🔥 Entering the Sabbat of Beltane
Beltane arrives around May 1st, right at the threshold where spring stops whispering and starts letting you know a thing or two. The land is no longer in preparation; it’s in expression. Blossoms are open, the air feels warmer, and there’s a noticeable shift from waiting… to living.
You might feel that shift in yourself, too. A restlessness. A desire to move, connect, create, or even just feel something more fully. That’s you syncing up with Gaia's heartbeat and rhythm.
Spiritually, Beltane represents the ignition of life force. It’s the moment where what has been building beneath the surface begins to move outward.
The Energy of the Beltane Season
This is a season of activation. Emotionally, things can feel more intense—desire, clarity, attraction, even frustration if something isn’t moving as quickly as you’d like. There’s a pull toward connection, toward what feels aligned, toward what sparks something inside you.
Spiritually, the invitation is simple but not always easy: to participate in your own life rather than be a bystander.
Something is stirring. Something wants to grow—not an idea or intention, but in reality. You may notice what’s no longer satisfying, what feels misaligned, and what feels charged with possibility.
This sabbat's energy is about noticing where your energy naturally wants to go and allowing that to drive you forward.
Crystals for Beltane
These stones support the subtle work of this season.
Carnelian:Â This is pure life force in crystal form. It supports movement, confidence, and taking action when hesitation tries to creep in, perfect for a season that asks you to show up.
Rose Quartz:Â Not just for love, but for emotional openness. Beltane energy can bring connection to the surface, helping you stay soft without losing yourself in the process.
Sunstone carries warmth, optimism, and a sense of personal power. It aligns with the season's rising light and helps you feel safe being seen.
🌿 Herbal & Botanical Allies
These plant allies reflect the spirit of this Sabbat.
Rose: Soft, fragrant, and deeply connected to the heart. Whether in tea or simply present in your space (my mom makes beautiful rose gelée-filled chocolates), rose invites emotional openness and reminds you that vulnerability can be a strength.
Hawthorn:  Traditionally linked to Beltane, carries protective and heart-centred energy. Its presence feels both grounding and expansive, like standing at a threshold between worlds.
Cinnamon: Warm, spicy, and activating. Add it to coffee or tea to bring a little fire into your body—supporting motivation, energy, and forward movement.
Collective Sabbat Reading
Staying in Balance as the Season Changes: The Hermit
Even as everything around you speeds up, you’re being asked to stay connected to your inner truth. This isn’t about self-isolation, it’s about not losing yourself in external noise. Move forward, but stay grounded in who you are and what you know is right. There may be moments when stepping back feels necessary to recalibrate and listen more deeply to your truth. Your clarity doesn’t come from rushing—it comes from honouring your own pace and trusting the guidance within you.
Unlocking the Power of Potential: King of Wands
There is leadership energy here. Not in a loud, performative, "look at me" way, but in a you know what you’re capable of now, so own it kind of way. This is about owning your vision and allowing yourself to be the main character in it. The King of Wands reminds you that your passion is a flashing neon sign saying, "Go this way." When you follow it, others naturally recognize your authority, and you validate it for yourself. The journey may go something like
I'm scared, but I'll do it anyway
I've actually got this!
I am the authority over my own life
...and the bonus...people see me with respect and approach me with consideration
Life Force Embodied: Inanna (Believe in Yourself)

Inanna is so fitting for Beltane. She asks you to look at the dreams you’ve tucked away, the ones you’ve talked yourself out of before they even had a chance to breathe. There’s a part of you that already knows what you want, but self-doubt, timing, or fear of being seen has kept it buried.
Her energy isn’t about a lifestyle or personality overhaul; it’s about remembering the version of you before you were taught to question your worthiness to create, to desire, to receive.
You’re being asked to release the ingrained beliefs that say “I can’t” or “I’m not ready.” Because the truth is, the longing and ennui you feel isn't about being unfulfilled; it is actually a guiding light
There is something within you ready to rise, and you are more capable than you’ve allowed yourself to believe.
Try This: Spread Yourself
If you feel called, pull your own cards for this season.
Ask yourself:
Staying in Balance as the Season Changes: What will keep me grounded as I step out of my comfort zone and into self-expression?
Unlocking the Power of Potential: How do I channel my intentions and desires into action?
Life Force Embodied: What archetype should I look to for inspiration for embodying my desires?
'Lazy' Witch Ritual
Embracing your personal power
What you need: A candle, rhythmic music (drum-like, tribal beats, etc.)
How to do it:
Light your candle and sit comfortably.
Let the music create a steady rhythm in the background, and feel the beat in your body.
Begin with your breath, slow, steady inhales and exhales all the way from your Root
As you breathe, visualize a warm, glowing fire building at the base of your spine (root chakra)- your center of purpose, power, and strength.
With each inhale, that fire grows stronger.
Let it rise slowly into your sacral chakra- your center of desire, creativity, and connection. Feel it expand, warming you from the inside out.
Then allow that energy to move into your solar plexus - your power center. See it as a steady, controlled flame.
Sit with this. Breathe with it. Let yourself feel what it’s like to hold your own energy and feel fueled by it.
When you’re ready, close the ritual with gratitude and by acknowledging:
“I am a powerful force of self-expression and empowerment."
✨ Final Reflections & Next Steps
Beltane asks you to be present enough to notice where life is already trying to meet you.
There is movement here, possibility, and most importantly, there is you, learning how to trust what you feel and where you’re being led.
