As the Orionid meteor shower approaches its peak on October 21, we’re gifted one of those liminal nights where the sky invites us to release what’s heavy and open to streaks of insight. Tonight, we prepare—clearing out stagnant energy from our bodies and our spaces so tomorrow’s meteors have somewhere bright to land.
Why prep the night before?
Energetically, meteor showers are like quick downloads: brilliant, fast, and clarifying. When we spend a little time grounding + cleansing, our intuition is sharper, our intentions cleaner, and our experience far more magical.
Set the scene (10–15 minutes)
Quick tidy & smoke-free cleanse: Open a window, clap in corners, and sweep energy toward the door. If you smudge, do so mindfully; otherwise, a salt-water spritz works beautifully (1 cup water + 1 tsp sea salt).
Salt bath or shower scrub: Handful of salt, a few drops of lavender or rosemary, and your intention: “I release what’s ready to go. I welcome wonder.”
Hydrate & warm up layers: Stargazing is a meditative experience; bring water or tea and bundle up.
Create a simple Orionids Crystal Grid (5 minutes)
Center: Clear quartz (amplify clarity)
Four points: Black tourmaline/obsidian (grounding), labradorite (cosmic intuition), carnelian (courage to act), selenite (purify)
Note: If you don’t have all the stones, substitute with what you have; intention leads.
Place your written intention beneath the center stone: “Show me the next brave step.” For guidance or insight on your next big step, book a 15-minute voice call and I'll help you clarify your intentions.
Breath + mantra before bed (4 minutes)
Inhale for 4, hold for 4, exhale for 6, repeat x6.
Whisper: “Clear out. Call in.”

Viewing tips for tomorrow night
Find the darkest spot you can, turn off your phone’s flashlight, and give your eyes 15–20 minutes to adjust. Look generally east/southeast; you don’t have to stare at Orion to catch the show. Let yourself be surprised.
Gentle caution & energy sensitivity
If you’re empathic or recovering (hi, my highly sensitive people), set a clear time container. Close with a grounding snack (such as almonds, apple slices, or warm tea) and a quick body check-in.
Close the ritual
Blow out your candle. Sweep your hands over your body like you’re brushing off dust. Say: “I am clear, grounded, and open to wonder.”
